The Michael Vieira Band combines the best in live musicianship with modern music technology to create a unique sound and specializes in "true to the original recording" performances of the most requested dance music from all eras. Our repertoire mixes songs from the Big Band era of Glen Miller and Frank Sinatra,The Beatles,The Rolling Stones, Disco, R'n'B,The Tragically Hip and pop tunes by artists such as Bruno Mars, Rihanna, Katy Perry, Pitbull, The Weekend, Pharell Williams and Camila Cabello. We offer bands and musical ensembles from duos and trios for cocktail parties to our high energy dance band.

Michael Vieira - Keyboards / Vocalist
Michael Vieira, The Band Leader of the Michael Vieira Band Michael is a Toronto born musician who began playing piano at age seven. His love of Spanish Classical music inspired him to continue his studies at The University Of Toronto where he earned a Bachelor Of Music Degree in Composition. Upon graduation he became actively involved in all facets of the Toronto music scene as a bandleader, pianist, and composer. Michael is an award winning composer and arranger of commercial music for radio, television, and stage.
His credits include numerous jingles and music for infomercials as well as music for two feature films The Lunatic and Woman Wanted starring Kiefer Sutherland. Stage credits include six years of composing scores for The Stratford Festival productions of Henry The Sixth, The Birds, Henry The Eighth, Measure For Measure, Twelfth Night and The Merchant Of Venice. Michael has also been involved in Toronto's musical theatre scene as a keyboard player for numerous shows including Mamma Mia, Rent, The Lion King, A Chorus Line, Menopause Out Loud, Robin Hood, Book of Mormon, Wicked, The Bodyguard, Bat Out of Hell, Beautiful, School of Rock, Annie, and Sister Act. He has also been the resident Musical Director, Composer, Arranger and Accompanist at The Etobicoke School Of The Arts for the past 28 years. Most recently Michael has performed as a keyboardist with The Tenors, appearing on their CBC Christmas Special and touring Canada and the United States.
Monica Selene - Vocalist / Percussion
Monica Selene is a singer song writer born and raised in Toronto. Monica started her career singing back ups and lead for various bands in Toronto. She has sung with bands including Closed Circuit, YoYo Mama, Valley, JPD, After Funk, Funny Funk, Major Jam, Scott Helman, Adria Kain, and Charlotte Day Wilson.
Monica started her music education in 2010 after applying to Rosedale Heights School of the Arts where she studied music and dance. After graduating, she was enrolled in the Discovery Through the Arts music school where she studied with Madoka Murata. Monica is a graduate of the Bachelor of Music program at Humber College.
Phil Poppa - Saxophone, Flute, Clarinet and Vocalist
Phil began his 30 year career learning the ins and outs of R'n'B, Rock, Soul and Country music touring Canada and the U.S. with numerous bands. Upon his return he became active in the Toronto studio scene and played on numerous jingles, TV and radio shows and albums for various bands. As well as being a member of such notable bands as "The SPOONS" and "BAMBOO", Phil has also performed with "The Fabulous Thunderbirds", Glass Tiger, Alfie Zappacosta, The Partland Brothers, Frozen Ghost, Bob Hope and Dinah Christie. Phil has had the privilege of travelling to many parts of the world in various musical ensembles, most recently to Hong Kong and Bangkok,as well as touring Europe and the Middle East for the Canadian Government.
Phil was recently nominated in the "Wind Instrumentalist Of The Year" category and his CD "What You See Is What You Get" was nominated for Album Of The Year at the Canadian Smooth Jazz Awards.
Michael Dankert - Guitarist / Vocalist
Michael is a graduate of Humber College and the consummate rock and roll musician. His training at the St.Michael's College has made him a vocalist extraordinaire with the unique ability to mimic the voices of many different artists as well as developing his own unique Rock and Roll vocal style. He has appeared with such acts as Lori Yates and The Razorbacks and has sung and played on numerous recordings for feature artists and commercials.
Michael can be seen performing at venues around Toronto with his band and as a guitarist vocalist with "The Legends Of Rock" and "Classics Live" shows. He has three albums to his credit with his current CD entitled "The Shape Shifter."
